LatinoRen announces a new GED program in partnership with the Bell Gardens Chamber of Commerce
Description of GED Prep program/Scholarship application
LatinoRen in collaboration with the Bell Gardens Chamber of Commerce (BGCOC) will be hosting a 13-week GED program. The GED prep training will be provided by LatinoRen and hosted by BGCOC at No Cost to 10 students in the greater Los Angeles County Area. This program has a $1,500 value.
The primary focus of this course will be Test Taking Strategies and Improving your Math and Writing Skills. By focusing in these areas, we can prepare you for the GED in 13 weeks or less. Depending on your current aptitude we will tailor a course designed specifically for you and that works with your schedule.
Each student must complete the application below and send the following documentation:
1.) Academic transcripts (provide transcripts for all high schools attended)
2.) A letter of recommendation from an employer or teacher (not mandatory, but highly encouraged)
These documents can be sent by email or can be dropped off at the the Bell Gardens Chamber of Commerce located at: 7535 Perry Road, Bell Gardens, CA 90201
- All documents must have your name and the type of document it is (letter of rec or transcript)

- March 7 - March 28- Open enrollment for Applications
- March 29th - 10 Scholarships will be announced
- April 1 - June 28 - 13 weeks of instruction
- Week of July 1st - GED test taken by all students
Requirements from students
1.) Complete all assignments without exception. Essay topic will be given at the beginning of each week and each student is responsible for turning in his/her essay on Friday by 5 pm.
2.) Attend weekly check-in meeting (online or in person)
3.) Participate in volunteer event (One event per month - optional but encouraged)
